Assets & site files in Foreman: how it works
Site plans, certificates, photos and invoices end up spread across phones, inboxes and a shared drive. Foreman's Site Files keeps them in one place for the whole team, reads every document as it's uploaded, and lets the assistant find the one you need.
Step 1
Upload anything site-related
Drag files into My Files: documents, spreadsheets, images, CAD drawings and more. Uploads go into the folder you're viewing, and unsafe file types are blocked.
Step 2
Let Foreman read them
Each document is scanned and summarised with its type, such as an invoice or certificate, so search covers what's inside files, not just their names.
Step 3
Ask for it
Ask the assistant to find the insurance certificate or the quote for a job, and it searches names, summaries and the text inside your files.
Step 4
Connect your other tools
Connect Google Drive alongside My Files, and link Xero, Slack, Stripe and other tools from the Connect page.
Assets & site files: common questions
Can another business see my files?
No. Each workspace has its own My Files, and Foreman only ever looks at the files of the workspace you're working in.
Can I restrict a folder?
Yes. Folder access can be restricted to the people who need it, alongside the Google Drive connection.
Is there a file size limit?
Files over 50 MB are skipped with a message, and executables and scripts are blocked for safety.
