Asset service history in Foreman: how it works
Rego renewals, calibration dates and the last service on a client's unit are easy to lose track of. Foreman keeps an asset register for your vehicles and instruments, and for gear you look after on client sites, with a service history that builds itself as you work.
Step 1
Add the asset
Add a vehicle (rego, year, odometer, rego expiry) or an instrument (serial number, calibration due), and set its status: Active, Maintenance, Out of service or Retired.
Step 2
Link it to a person or client
Assign it to a staff member or subcontractor, or link client-owned gear to the client and property it belongs to.
Step 3
Record each service
Add service records with the date, what was done and an optional cost. Over time the asset carries a full maintenance log.
Step 4
See what's due
Rego expiry turns amber within 30 days and red once it's passed, and next service and calibration dates are shown on each card.
Asset service history: common questions
Can I track equipment I don't own?
Yes. Use Linked client to attach a client and property to gear you maintain on site but don't own.
How do I find an asset quickly?
Search matches name, make, model, serial number, plate, assigned person or location, and you can filter by vehicles or instruments.
Does it warn me before registration runs out?
Yes. Rego expiry is colour-coded on the card, and the summary counts assets that need attention.
