Polite chasers in Foreman: how it works

Chasing money is the job nobody wants, so it doesn't get done. Foreman ships with reminder rules that follow up quotes and overdue invoices for you, in wording you can edit, and a page that shows exactly what went out and when.

  1. Step 1

    Start with the built-in rules

Three rules come switched on: a day-before job reminder, a quote follow-up three days after sending, and an invoice nudge three days after it goes overdue.

  2. Step 2

    Make the wording yours

Edit the message templates. Placeholders like {{client}}, {{number}} and {{date}} are filled in from the real quote or invoice when the message sends.

  3. Step 3

    Add your own rules

Create a new rule with its trigger, delay, template and channel (email, SMS or both), or describe what you want and use Draft with AI.

  4. Step 4

    See what's scheduled

The Reminders page lists every upcoming reminder. Send one now, cancel one that's no longer needed, and check the Activity tab for what was sent or failed.

Polite chasers: common questions

Does a reminder still go out after the client pays or accepts?

Reminders are tied to the record's status. Re-sending a quote resets its follow-up schedule, and you can cancel any scheduled reminder before it goes out.

Can reminders go by text message?

Rules can send by email, SMS or both. The day-before job reminder uses both by default.

Can I turn a rule off?

Yes. Each rule has a switch on the Rules tab, so you can pause quote follow-ups or invoice nudges without deleting them.
