Margin at a glance in Foreman: how it works
Most business owners find out whether a job made money weeks after it finished. The project overview in Foreman puts the figures that decide it on one screen while the work is still going, so you can change course instead of writing it off.

Open the project overview
Approved budget, actual spend, committed (open purchase orders), remaining, billed, claims and margin are the headline numbers on the project hub.

Check what's firm and what's estimated
If labour is estimated rather than taken from timesheets, the overview says so, so you know how much weight to put on the margin figure.

Scan every project at once
The project list shows budget status (draft, approved or locked) and flags Over budget, Under-claimed and Expenses to approve across all your builds.

Margin at a glance: common questions
Who can see the margin?
People with finance access. Anyone without it sees a notice in place of the project's money figures, which is useful for crew leads who manage the work but not the money.
Does committed spend count against the budget?
Committed shows open purchase orders separately from actual spend, so you can see money that's promised but not yet spent.
Is this only for large projects?
The project hub is for multi-week jobs with a budget. For day-to-day work, the Reports page shows scheduled line-item margin and job status across jobs.
